Career Opportunity

This position manages the operation of the Brown Stock Washers, Screen Room, and Kamyr Digesters at Demopolis.  This includes two brown stock washer lines, 2 screen room lines,  and 2 Kamyr Digesters. This position requires the capability to manage projects, process, and people.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT WestRock

  • Works with all levels of management in both production and maintenance to maximize mill earnings by improving throughput and quality of the Bleaching process
  • Achieve/exceed budgeted production goals
  • Develop and manage annual budget
  • Implementation of process/equipment/quality improvement projects
  • Leads safety management and improvement projects
  • Management of environmental systems and equipment to maintain compliance
  • Management of PSM covered processes in the Bleach Room
  • Develop skills and capabilities of 2 direct reports
  • Develop capital plans for the Brown Stock Washers, Screen Room, and Kamyr Digesters, and implement approved projects with desired results
  • Implement systems to improve equipment reliability
  • Implement systems to improve operator responsibility
  • Solve repetitive process/equipment failures
  • Support department training
  • Direct maintenance shut down execution of process lines
  • Administer the labor agreement
  • Direct Fiberline operations in the absence of the Fiberline Superintendent

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • BS Engineering, with 5-10 years experience in Fiberline processes preferred; extensive experience in Fiberline operations in lieu of degree acceptable
  • Communication, leadership, teamwork, developing direct reports, drive to succeed, teaching skills
  • Departmental on call duty- encompassing the entire Fiberline on a rotating basis
