Assistant Forester Opportunities
with our Integrated Resource Team
Assistant Forester:
- Eligible or working towards a professional designation (RFT or RPF)
- Knowledge of TFM and CENFOR forest management software applications
- Passionate about physical work in adverse conditions and is flexible towards camp shifts
- Familiar with field technology; iPad, Survey Wizard, GPS, etc.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of silvicultural activities and solid forestland management
- A great written and verbal communicator
As a successful applicant, you will work closely with our senior staff to exercise and develop the following skills;
- Knowledge of forest legislation for both private and Crown land
- Knowledge of coastal harvesting & silvicultural systems
- Preparation of site plans and stand management prescriptions
- Knowledge of silvicultural surveys, practices and prescriptions
- Navigation and map reading skills, GPS surveys and applications, and general computer skills
- Experience working around trucks, ATVs, boats, float planes & helicopters
