POSITIONS: Tree Climber 

JOB LOCATION: Nanaimo, BC. Position is local and does not require overnight or out of town assignments. 

JOB DUTIES: Outdoor positions involve: proper identification of plants, providing expert tree surgery services; evaluations & inspections of customer trees/plants and growing conditions. Responsible for climbing, pruning, planting, and removing trees or shrubs on residential and commercial properties; installing cables, bracing, lightening protection; expert completion of customer job orders. Positions require climbing, lifting, bending and dexterity. Occasionally requires handling chemicals --fertilizers, fungicides, and pesticides. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma. Must have experience with using chainsaws, pruners, shears, and other arborist equipment. Climbing experience without spurs, knowledge of knots, chainsaw operation, and bucket truck experience helpful. ISA certified arborist, CDL, strong tree ID skills, installation experience of cables, bracing and lightening protection all helpful. Knowledge of and experience with equipment maintenance, customer service, safe working procedures are all a must. Experience in crew management & training -- valuable but not required.

Compensation

Salary: $16.00/Hourly

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
