We have several yards to work out of. Head Office/Yard: Surrey (Cloverdale), alternate: Coquitlam or Richmond

Assist arborist in arboricultural practices while providing the highest quality performance in safety, quality and efficiency.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Choose and load daily appropriate equipment
• Daily inspection of equipment and vehicles
• Driving vehicles
• Choose and inspect personal protective equipment
• Read a work order
• Inspect a work site and identify hazards
• Set up and take down of work site
• Flag vehicular and pedestrian traffic
• Assist a tree climber in rigging and removing limbs and tree sections
• Take down trees using spurs and an aerial lift truck under supervision
• Prune small trees and shrubs under supervision
• Refuel, sharpen and/or operate a chain saw
• Limb and buck trees on the ground
• Operate a chipper or other specialized equipment; ie stump grinder, skidsteer, hi-ab and airspade
• Tree installation and transplanting
• Integrated pest management and invasive species control
• Root prune and install root barriers
• Clean up of job site
• Complete aerial rescue and lift truck rescue training

Must have WHMIS Certificate (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)

Compensation

Wage: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour


Extras: BCPHC supplies all climbing gear and safety allowance for boots and chainsaw pants, some restrictions apply.
