  • The Society of Irish Foresters - The Society of Irish Foresters represents the interests of more than 700 members, predominantly professional foresters, but including, through its associate and student membership, a wide cross-section of people involved, or with an interest in, the forest and timber industry.
  • Irish Timber Growers Association (ITGA) - The Irish Timber Growers Association (ITGA) was formed in 1977 to support the development and expansion of private sector forestry in Ireland and to represent and inform woodland owners. It is now the recognised national representative body of private woodland owners in Ireland.
  • Association of Irish Forestry Consultants (AIFC) - The Association of Irish Forestry Consultants (AIFC) represents the forest consultancy profession in Ireland with a membership that has a nationwide presence and a client base of over 1,500 forest owners.
  • ProSilva Ireland - ProSilva Ireland was founded in 2000 in order to develop and promote ProSilva Forest Management Principles as an alternative to clear-felling in Irish forestry.
  • Irish Natural Forestry Foundation (INFF) - The Irish Natural Forestry Foundation (INFF) was established “to research, demonstrate, and campaign for economically, socially and environmentally sustainable forestry in Ireland". The INFF is a small but influential organisation formed in 2002 to research, demonstrate and promote economically, socially and environmentally sustainable forestry in Ireland.

  • Crann - Crann is Ireland's leading voluntary tree organisation dedicated to the promotion and protection of our trees, hedgerows and woodlands. It is a membership-based, non profit registered charity uniting people with a love of trees.
  • Woodlands of Ireland Project - Woodlands of Ireland, a not for profit company, engage in native woodland projects and provide training and technical support to advance its objectives which are primarily to appropriately manage and expand native woodlands in Ireland.

  • COFORD Council for Forest Research and Development - COFORD - the Programme of Competitive Forestry Research for Development (formerly National Council for Forest Research and Development) - is based in the Research Division of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. COFORD is responsible for the development of national forest research and development policy and priorities, the formulation and implementation of programmes that address these priorities, and transferring the knowledge generated into practice.
